There's always been discussion on whether you should run by time or by distance. There are definite pro's and con's to both.
Which do you prefer?
Joshua Harris I've trained by both - both have their advantages. The training plans have had different methods so hard to compare but I do like that with time I'm out there for that amount of time regardless of how fast (or slow) I go.

Michael Birsa Depends on your goal and race I think.

The 2015 Boston Marathon is underway and out on the course today we have a couple racers!
Best of luck to Daryl Granger and Heath White today - Have a great race today!
Today Doug Cole and I will be racing Robie Creek for our RODS Racing orphan Quentin. Robie is a tough half marathon with 9 miles up the mountain with a steep down hill final 4.1 miles. Tough but not as tough as the current lives of these kids we race for. Being a RODS racer means racing for a greater cause bigger than oneself. Who do you race for? Join RODS or support us to help Quentin bless a loving family!

This is a Big SHOUT OUT for Ollie and his family, formerly known as Dylan, RODS Orphan.
As Mali shared today, "Today is a very important and special day for our family. One year ago on this date we walked up the walkway to the director's building of a rural orphanage and saw a beautiful little boy waving excitedly through the front door glass! There have been many ups and downs because adoption is not easy, but it is so worth it. This past year has been such an amazing adventure....it's incredible to see the growth and changes that have taken place in all of us over one year's time. We can't even imagine our lives without our Ollie bug. Today is the day that in our hearts (since it wasn't legally official, yet) we became a family of four!"
Congrats from the RODS Team!
RODS Racing Mali Farr Kindall our gratitude goes out to you and your amazing family!

Becky Page Preece What kind of teams does he play on? (All typical kids, a mix of abilities etc?) I'm looking to get my boys involved in sports now but don't know where to start.

Amanda Turano Superman!!
April 7, 2015 at 3:46 pm2
Jennifer Turano Dandrea Becky, his school sports (bball & track) are teams with typical peers. We have a phenomenal school coach for both of those sports (Paul Perotto) who treats Anthony like all of the other 6th graders! He does play on Unified Flag Football team (Friday Night Flag paired with Special Olympics) with all types of special needs & typical kids. Again, an amazing coach leads these young boys and girls. Anthony loves being part of these teams!

Donald Turano Anthony is awesome! We are so proud of him, on so many levels.
April 7, 2015 at 9:49 pm1
Trace Dandrea Becky Page Preece - Throughout Elementry school we were able to involve Anthony with swim team, golf summer program, soccer, baseball, basketball and football teams. He gets so much support from the coaches and the kids on his team. We stopped reading all the books and facts of what LIMITATIONS there are and began focusing on what's POSSIBLE. INCLUSION is what drives Anthony and the love he gets from people involved is our biggest blessing. All of this lead to Anthony being able to do his first triathlon last year. School is important but what he gets to do with his piers on the field improving his physical, social and mental development is making all the difference in a balanced life. As Lisa Smith-Batchen says, "today is a good day to start".
